In this workshop you will:
  • Explore glaze application techniques including dipping, brushing, and pouring, and learn how each method affects the final result
  • Learn about glaze properties and how they inform application and outcome
  • Learn how to layer and combine techniques for more complex surface results
  • Learn how wax resist works and how to use it as part of your glazing process
What you will walk away with:
  • A working understanding of glaze properties and how to use that knowledge to make more informed choices at the Hey Clay glaze station
  • Hands-on experience with a range of glaze application techniques
  • A broader sense of what's possible with glaze alone

About the instructor
Atlas Thomas is a sculptor, ceramicist, and art historian. His focus is on multiple forms of craft, and the limitless possibilities of combining different practices.
