Teens on Wheels practice offers dedicated studio time for teens to practice wheel throwing in a focused, self-directed environment. Participants work independently at the wheel, developing their skills and confidence through regular practice. Hey Clay provides the space, clay, tools, and equipment needed to support this time at the wheel.
Class details
- Arrive and depart anytime within the session window.
- Reservations are required.
- Wheel throwing only, held in a designated area of the studio.
- Pricing includes clay, studio tools, and use of the wheels.
Firing
- Bisque firing: $0.06 per cubic inch.
- Glaze firing options:
- Studio glazing: $15 per piece. Studio staff will apply one glaze color and complete the glaze firing.
- Independent glazing: Teens may learn how to glaze during a scheduled private lesson. After completing this training, they may glaze their own work independently. Glaze firings are then charged at $0.06 per cubic inch.
Studio guidelines
- Participants should have prior wheel experience and be comfortable working independently.
- This program does not include instruction or general Open Studio access outside the scheduled session.
- Participants are responsible for fully cleaning their workstations according to studio protocol before departure.
- Only pieces deemed safe for firing will be fired. If a piece is not approved, the firing fee will be fully refunded.
- All standard studio policies apply.
